Tea Table

2017

Foraward

A traditional tea ceremony requires a series of devices. When not in use these devices take up space. Some people might find these devices bothersome and they quickly get dusty. Based on this thought, the idea of this design was to create a table, which has a hidden compartment for the tea group, which can easily and cleanly be stored away when not in use.

Concept

Broadly speaking, this table has three different parts. The first part on the top is two separate table surfaces. They fit together and can open out to take out the tea group. The middle part is where the tea group is stored. It has three sections that can hold a kettle, tea tray, teacups and pots (in that order). The bottom part is two wooden table legs that hold the tea table.
